I love it when 10p women become bff's :)
As soon as Karen and I have a free day(and get our asses back on the mats:) we are headed to HQ! Looks like some amazing classes have been growing and its so cool to see so many ladies out there! Keep training! and hope to roll with ya all soon. We no longer have our all ladies open mat Sundays but do the Socal Womens Bjj one sometimes- they often have 50 or more ladies with multiple Black Belts to roll with which is cool. But also with notice, we are willing to host a open mat or class- just let us know. Karen@10thplanetburbank.com Good luck at Gracie Nat'l ( we will be with the kids competing at SJJIF)

For the most part, I'm the only girl who trains consistently at my school. There is another chick who trains in the summer but is away at college the rest of the year. I was one of those who wanted nothing to do with jiu jitsu for years. Only wanted to box. It wasn't about self defense for me, it was just no interested in rolling around on the ground with random dudes. I hate to be touched, so jiu jitsu was the farthest thing from my mind. Now I wish I had started years earlier. Without having a few women who train consistently, I think it's hard to get more women interested. Especially in nogi. I've noticed there are more gi women's only classes/schools which seem to have enough chicks to remain open (Gracie Barra is a great example of separating men from women, which is stupid IMO).
