It all depends on what shape you are in. It's A LOT different than rolling in your gym/dojo. I would shoot for 3-6 matches. Get a feel for being in competition and then next time you can better judge what works for you. There's nothing worse than starting a match completely gassed. You won't get anything out of it, but you will be upset with yourself. Make sure you bring food and a sports drink. I prefer coconut water instead of Gatorade. I eat pretty well and ultra hydrate the day before comps. I also take multi-vitamins everyday and a extra potassium pill day of comps. I hoped this helped and what you were looking for.
P.S. you are probably going to adrenaline dump in your first match. Don't freak out if you are moving a little slow or feel more tired than usual. you can simulate this feeling in practice. Go run a fast mile then roll 3 rounds. between each round do enough pushups to get a good burn, but not enough that you can't roll. if you start to get your wind back, do some jump-squats between rounds. after your first match you should be fine and your body should self-adjust.
