I don't know if he got paid or not but I remember seeing a thread when he first started complaining about it and then someone responded saying Eddie hired him to do it. I will go search for that thread now tho because theres always a chance that im just making all that up.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Eddie asked and/or paid Cookie to post those MMA articles. We could find a replacement to take over that task? At first I found it annoying but I definitely grew to love having that MMA news regularly available to comment on with you guys.

I think when someone said "hired" it wasn't exactly saying that he was paying him. He could'a just been volunteering. I liked his posts. It was cool being able to shoot ideas at each other regarding those articles on the boards. Shame he felt he needed to detach altogether.
