    torn achilles and jiu jitsu

whats up guys, im 8 months off of a partially torn achilles tendon(no surgery) , iv never been involved in jiu jitsu or mma besides some kickboxing for fitness, became obsessed with bjj then mma and then tpjj while being out of commision from my traditional ball sports and ice hockey, im looking for opinions on whether 8 months is enough time healing to get involved in jiu jitsu, doc said healing time was 4-6 months for recovery. im already back to running miles, running sprints, playing basketball (which is how i tore it) and running cones, but iv never delt with people twisting on my leg so im not sure if im THAT healed yet.... opinions please...
