    What's a good lunch to pack daily?

    I'm trying to save money because I spend about $50 per work week on lunch. I get a salad and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat 5 days a week. That keeps me full until jiu jitsu class.

    What's an easily prepared, inexpensive lunch that'll give me enough energy for the day? I suppose I could make my own salads and what not, but by lunch time the lettuce gets all wilted.

    Any suggestions? What fuels you guys?

    I work 10 hour shifts, and typically I only bring 2 apples and 2 bananas and peanut butter. (Peanut butter on the banana)

    Stir fry meat and lots of vegetables, carry it in tupperware. Also, boiled eggs are great for portable protein.

    Usually my breakfast-lunch routine is this.

    Breakfast
    -smoothie (1banana, 1 type of berry, Justin's Almond butter, Almond breeze unsweetened, 3 tsp of Pasturized Egg Whites, flax seeds (milled), chia seeds (raw). If I'm feeling adventurous I'll throw some goji berries in as well.

    Snack
    -1/2 cup of Nuts (almonds or Walnuts)
    -Black Coffee or Green Tea

    Lunch (Pack everything in separate ziplock baggies to prevent wilting)
    Salad:
    Greens (lettuce, dandelion, or kale, etc)
    Cucumber
    Tomato
    Red onion
    Protein ie (chicken breast, steak, salmon) try and use what you ate the night before from dinner.

    Usually this will get me by til class at 7 and then I have a very light meal for dinner or another smoothie.

    and a big ass lunch box for all that.

    chicken salad is my favorite. Veggies and protein with no carbs. Although it is kinda fattening since i put a crapload of blue cheese dressing over it.

    Tuna salad sandwich is pretty simple. Tuna, mayo, onion, green pepper, a little relish, mix it all together and throw it on some kind of whole grain bread. A piece of fruit, salad, potato chips, whatever for a side. If you put the dressing on the side and throw a handful of water in it should stay crisp til you eat it.
