Jones has pretty much cleaned out the division. All that is left is rematches and no one seems to want to take a rematch with Jones with 4 weeks to prepare. They should just bring Cormier over I bet he could make 205

Wonder why they didnt have Chael fight instead of vitor as he would have on the original date of jones agreed.

Greg Jackson being the master strategist that he is definitely dropped the ball on this one. Lose lose situation for Jones.

Seems like Jackson is the one holding the leash. Jackson has the potential to do to Jones what M-1 did to Fedor.
Its prolly all part of their "strategy"

    +1

When you reach 30 and think back to being 23 you'll realize you were still a kid. Even though your still a kid at 30 you know so much more from lessons learned, mostly with understanding females

Jones is a 13-1 favorite. Buster Douglas was a 42-1 underdog... Here's hoping Vitor knocks him out

Vitor by first round straight punches to the face while running towards opponent ala Wanderlei knockout.

Seriously it would be the best event of 2012 by a long shot.

Here's my take on the fight.
Just by going with odds and styles, this fight will sell better and (more likely) be more exciting than it looks. Lets look at the options we had and the odds of winning the fight against JBJ.
Machida: Karate style that has been the most successful attack against Jones thus far in his career. However, as soon as Machida came forwards to look for finishing shots, he got caught and submitted soon after.
Winning Scenario: 5rds of Karate (aka boring) to maybe grab a decision. Certainly not exciting, or necessarily plausible. Odds of winning 15-25%.
Sonnen: Grinding and powerful, he comes forwards with only one thing in mind. Throw his strongest shot at you and throw you against the cage and ground. However, Jones has NEVER been taken down and he has fought Bader, Evans, and Brandon Vera in his career... Sonnen may be (aka is) at a style disadvantage. Unless he has a 3rd arm in his mouth remains to be seen.
Winning Scenario: What he did for 23 minutes against Silva. Odds of Winning: 12.5-20%
Belfort: Blazing fast and ridiculously talented in the striking department, he makes his fights extremely fun while they last. He throws his gloves with unmatched speed at middleweight, so I would give him a tiny... tiny speed advantage in his striking due to his hand speed. His defense is vulnerable but he is willing to push forward and hit whatever he can.
Winning Scenario: Channeling his inner "Matt Serra" and pushing forward for a stunning 1st rd KO. His finishing ability compared to Machida and Sonnen is significantly more worrisome, and that factor alone gives him the best odds of winning. 25-35%.
P.S at 13-1 odds.... put 10 bucks on Belfort. That would be lol worthy.

I personally would rather see chael in there then vitor. Im disappointed in Jones and hopes he loses his title.
