Its not about this stuff. I think what Brandon is referring to, is how the bjj community hates on Eddie for the weed, tattoos, and party lifestyle. Kurt seems to do all of that and then some, but the community praises him. Of course there are underlying causes for their animosity, but they actually try to fall back on Eddie's lifestyle. Its pretty contradictory.

In the end I think a lot of the guys hating on Eddie are just finding reasons but I think it just comes down to the jealousy of his success, these guys are winning world championships like they are going out of style but have the nerve to say that Eddie bases his whole success of his victory over Royler Gracie, even when he beat Royler when he was on top of the world. If they knew Eddie they would know he is nothing but friendly and humble. Eddie gets a lot of bad PR especially with the Brazilian community but honestly he doesn't really need their support because his success clearly speaks for itself. I am not sure why they praise Kurt and diss Eddie when they have very similar personalities and views. I agree it's contradictory and frankly nonsense.

That's an interesting thought. I do think the community is starting to open up to some of his ideas. The trick is they have to believe the ideas come from someone else.

I was referring more to lifestyle than ideologies, though. Eddie likes to drink, cuss, smoke, and be the center of the room. Kurt likes to drink, cuss, and be the center of the room. I don't know if he smokes or not, but I have a good guess

I also find it interesting that there are a lot of critics that drink, smoke and curse. Apparently it's ok for them but nobody else.
