Knee pain rubber guard and lotus pose

Anyone else getting knee pain during rubber guard? I'm decently flexible, but have made the effort to get lotus down.
I googled knee pain lotus pose got this:

Interesting, the pain is down the centerline of my knee and I did run a lot in the past. The other whacky thing is stretching for rubber guard has loosened my back muscles pretty well!

I was getting some knee pain and a loose feeling from working rubber guard, but after some advice and playing around, I have figured out what I was doing wrong and corrected it accordingly (Thanks Jon Rivello) and I haven't been having issues since. I will try to find the thread and link it.
Just for the record, I don't try for lotus too often, and certainly don't put work in on it.

if you feel pulling inside the knee when you are stretching be very careful. even if you dont hurt yourself, you will stretch the ligaments. ligaments dont become more flexible, they just get weaker. you could end up with a very unstable knee.

ive jsut been having physiotherapy on my knee because the muscles mainly the hamstrings and calf muscles werent supporting the knee well enough, and since ive been strengthening my leg, my rubber guard feels way better.

I have been hugging my knee tight to my body when I work the rubber guard. This ensures that I am not pulling my foot up higher than my knee is, like I was talking about above. Since I started doing that, my knee is healing and not feeling loose like it was.
