Heel hook from vaporizer? Metamoris 3

I have not read the forum thoroughly for questions, but after watching Eddie and Royler's rematch over, I am wondering if anyone has asked if it is possible to heel hook a longer legged opponent from the vaporizer finishing position. While I was watching the match, it looked like Eddie had the room to attempt a heel hook attempt because of Royler's leg length. I did not read the rules for the match, but I am assuming because it was NoGi that the heel hook was fair play. Granted, it only seemed vaguely possible while his legs were sunk extremely deep, but I am definitely looking for some feedback on this. The answer would probably not be an offensive benefit to me because my legs are very long, but it would definitely make me more fearful of the vaporizer if I were facing a smaller legged leg lock/10th Planet specialist. It has been a minute since I have been on the forum. Shout out to Bobby Rivers and Chris Herzog. It would be very cool to meet either of you two if I ever get off my ass and leave Indiana.

I thought since they had Gi pants on there was no heel hook.

Eddie did have Gi Pants on, but Royler did not. Like I said, I was not clear on the rules.

Heel hooks were aloud.

As was grapping Eddies pants but Eddie could not grab Royler's clothes cause he was in full No-Gi gear.

Yeah i was wondering if he could have heel hooked it too but at the same time that shit was hard to watch without taking it that far. Someone showed me something similar to what you saying, they call it the infidel, but he did it from side control. he would pulled that outside foot back in that same angle eddie had royler, then he would figure four it like a kimura and that shit is awful.

I think the hand pressing foot flex, heel hook combo would be a better option than a standard heel hook. Its hard to heel hook that angle and range as his heel is facing the other way.
