Tonight I was honored with the rank of black belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu.
It's surreal to say the least.
I must thank, first and foremost, Master Eddie Bravo for allowing me to continue my training and studying under him for the last 3 years.
It's been a pleasure getting humbled by, brainstorming techniques with, and repping 10p for a living legend like Eddie.
Jiu Jitsu Unleashed then, now, and beyond. It never ends.
I want to thank Sean Bollinger. He was my first Jiu Jitsu instructor under 10th Planet.
From white to brown belt, I was able to learn from Sean, not only his grappling style, but his teaching style. A truly inspiring talent!
I want to thank Gokor Chivichyan for welcoming me in to the Hayastan camp. Some of the highest level jiu jitsu hails from Gokor, another living legend.
To all the fighters at Hayastan, thank you!
I want to thank Rafa and Gui Mendes for showing me a different side of jiu jitsu- not just the gi game of things, but a different look at the nogi game as well.
I want to thank Mike 'Joker' Guymon and Albert Rosales, from Jokers Wild Fighting Academy. This was my first jiu jitsu academy. They helped me early on and were a huge
influence as to why I continued the jiu jitsu journey.
I want to thank Mike Fazzino in South SF. Freestyle Submission Academy was my home away from home back in 2008-2009 and they welcomed me with open arms.
Thank you to the instructors at the dojo's, moons, and academies that have opened up their doors and allowed me to train with their students.
Thank you to the fellow grapplers that continue to push the pace. We bring out the best in eachother.
The progression of the game continues. The journey never ends. ...Jiu jitsu is for life.
