ADCC 2015 Both Days Total Submissions

Here’s my breakdown of the ADCC 2015 finishes for both days. Because of the variable camera coverage, there are definitely a few question marks below. If you can fill in any of those blanks please post the correct finish and likewise if you think I screwed anything up. I’ll update numbers as we go.

    Breakdown for ADCC 2013:

Not a single regular triangle either.

Weird though... No Guillotine. With the amount of forced wrestling at ADCC I'm really surprised.

Edit to add: with all the veterans focusing on wrestling the game has switched to not getting scored on rather than capitalizing on the shot to get the choke.

Here's a recent interview with Michael Liera Jr entitled "You can't survive ADCC camp without wrestling". He's on of the top guy from Galvaos school... Atos probably had as many athletes as GB did. And the GB and Checkmat guys have all been training with Jacob Harmon.

Yeah man, ADC 2011-2015 have been the most wrestle-heavy ever. After a run of classic finals in 2009, and some good in 2011, it's kind of a shame that there were only 3 ones yesterday I really liked (Ramos/Lepri, Dern/Nicolini, and Rodolfo/Pena).

Thanks for the article! Interesting read.

I still couldn't believe not a single guillotine. I thought it was ridiculous that Calasans got a tight looking standing guillotine on Yuri in the Absolute but couldn't pull guard to finish for fear of a -1. NOT a good way to encourage action.

Pretty shocking actually. The guillotine is almost always a top 2 choke hold in nogi comps, especially ADCC. A lot of them were always Marcelo Garcia but even without him there were a lot. Like in 2013.

3 unanswered shots has to be stalling. Warning, then negative advantage, then 2 point penalty, then DQ.

If neither guy takes a shot for a 30 seconds min 1 minute max hit them both for stalling, then a neg adv to both, then take away 2 points from both, then DQ them both if it comes to that.

I get they want to incentivate takedowns, but all their current ruleset does is discourage people from pulling guard.

100%. The answer to this problem is aggressive time based stalling calls on the feet. Penalizing guard pulls is good since it forces competitors to be more complete grapplers. But, you have to have aggressive stalling calls on the feet to complete the circle.

If guys can't pull and they are forced to execute takedowns quickly, then we are going to see complete grapplers winning watchable matches.

I would really like to complete the data set and fill in the missing finishes. If anyone sees anything put out that shows those finishes, please let me know in this thread.

This is similar to how Checkmate sub only deals with stalling. And they have penalty for fleeing the fight if someone pulls guard and the other person backs up and doesn't engage. And the last 2 checkmate's have had submission rates around 75%.
