Proposal for consolidating 10th Planet seminars

In doing a google search looking for dates of Eddie's seminars, I felt inclined to make this proposal. One thing I noticed with the Gracie website is that they have a tab on their sidebar that has an organized running list of confirmed seminars over the coming months, with the links to the hosting school and/or ways to pay, more information, etc. There have been past posts on the forum wondering where Eddie would teach next, and I'm always curious to see who's teaching where and it's become a bit of a hassle to individually search each instructor and/or to keep a keen eye out on social media for announcements. Recently, Nathan Orchard has done a whole west coast seminar tour, Denny's gone halfway around the world, and Eddie is teaching all over as usual. Unless you follow these guys on social media or go to those schools that they're visiting, there's little chance that you'd have heard of it. I thought it might be a good idea to be open-minded and consider adding this one feature to the website, run by a moderator of some sort, to give the general public a good reference for what 10th planet instructor is teaching where, at what time. All of this, as opposed to 'hearing it through the grapevine.'

Here is what I'm referencing. I see no reason why 10P couldn't do something similar. There's no reason to believe that this wouldn't serve to increase attendance at every seminar, imho. It can't be that hard to do. http://www.gracieacademy.com/seminars.asp?type=1

What about a pinned post? THAT would take less than a minute, and any 10P guys could just throw their dates on there and that'd be it.

There all ready is a ultimate seminar thread, it died because it wasn't being used.

I agree with you Arman, a tab with upcoming seminars would be awesome to have as I do see so many people doing seminars and it's difficult to keep up with them.

To do it right you'd want it integrated into the website. That would require the sourcecode for the site. Then you need a little input system so instructors can easily add new data. The last part is that people who have to actually put the information in there.

Doing it right would be a little bit involved. You've got to add columns and tables to the database, new webservice calls, new UI. It's not a huge amount of work. Perhaps 40 hours for someone who knew the technologies being used in the existing system? Just a guess. I would have to actually see the code to give a real estimate. Work required depends on the existing system quite a bit.

A next step enhancement might be a mailing list users can subscribe to that will send an email every time a new entry is added to he seminar system.

I would bet my next paycheck that it would increase attendance at seminars if it was easy to find, easy to use, and the information in it was always accurate and comprehensive.

But can it be made a sticky? There could be camps put up too. Something to consolidate the info. It wouldn't preclude any instructors from putting up another thread if they feel inclined, but at least a reference where, as Craig said, guys would need to take the initiative to put up their info. Even if their student or someone does it, at least a place you can refer to
