    Flexibility for rubber guard

    Hello Everyone!

What is the best method to get flexible enough to do all the 10th planet techniques comfortably? Ive struggled because of having tight hips... unfortunately I'm genetically prone to joint problems from both my mother and fathers sides

The best method is to stretch as much and as often as possible. This doesn’t jave to mean setting hours aside to do elaborate stretching routines, though of course that would help. But can be as simple as doing some stretching when ever you are relaxing, watching tv for example. Treat it as you would any other part of your jiu jitsu and get those reps in

keep an eye on your hip position, if you're off at the right angle Chill Dog side should be cool even with tight hips and don't forget to hug that knee!

I try and stretch at least 15 minutes before each training session after warming up and hold each stretch for about 2 minutes, at least. Worked for me. When I first started learning the system I couldn't even do mission control. Now, no issues at all with flexibility and I'm nearly 52 years old.
