I discussed staph in detail with my dr. He said its really hard to get off mats, almost all skin to skin, personal hygiene is more important. Staph cant grow on mats and dies in the air. Dirty training partners. ..... but Epstien says use thieves oil before and after rolling. If you get an open wound or mat burn, wash the shot and use athletic body care or thieves oil. Mats should be cleaned regularly though, who wants to roll on something that smells like a dirty arm pit, and staph and the worm aren't the only hygenic problems associated with gross mats.
