    Knee Pads

The advise I get on this forum is always a great help, I've got another gear related question.

Can I get a recommendation on knee pads?

I'm not injured now but my knees have given me trouble in the past & I want to be cautious I guess. I am starting to drill take-downs for 1st time since I never wrestled in school & all of my previous BJJ training involved starting on the knees or in position already on the ground. It would also be nice to have more padding in the top position since our current mats are a little thin.

I couldn't find anything searching on the Nibiru Forum but from reading on Sherdog I have found a couple of main recommendations. I read the Brute's material is a little rough - is that true? I don't want to chafe my partners face while I'm trying to slap on a triangle or something. I also don't want to get anything that might hinder the 10PJJ game (anything that would make me feel less flexible).

Thoughts on these or others not listed? If you have an opinion, please chime in!

i dunno to be honest, i have a pair of soft addias shinpads that i pull up to cover my knees when i'm rolling on a wooden or harder floor (during krav maga class we don't always bring out the judo mats if were in a hurry or training outside of our normal location). they seem to work fine but they do slide off a bit..

i bought a pair of brute exo but i didnt like the design... the front features was cool the design of the rear caused it to scrunch up on the inside of my knees, and started compressing in that sensitive area i sold them and now i use matman lycra kneepads. simple looking design but i still like them better. they fit well and give you enough protection and support

I wear some asics very similar to the ones you posted but they have a small gel pad at the front of the knee. Easily the best (training related) investment I have ever made.

I use blue Asics, not too shabby. Also started wearing Hiyabachy (spelling sry) ankle sleeves too. I wear grappling gloves as well.
