    weight cutting

I'm not a fan of weight cutting, seems...... shady, i know a lot if not everyone does it.
Me personally i never have cut weight for any competition and never had any problems handling myself.

Do you cut weight, how much and what do you think it does for you? I just dont get it

Dudes like Anthony Johnson and Thiago Alves would do so much better at middle weight walking round at 220 and cutting to 170 is just not healthy.

I would only consider cutting 5 pounds for BJJ and at most 10-15 for Judo.

Im debating on that right now. Im thinking about trying to lose about 8lbs for NAGA. I walk around at 190 and im thinking about dropping to 179. Not sure yet.

As long as you start cutting 2-3 weeks out it's fairly easy to make it without having to kill yourself. I usually go high protein and less than 100 carbs a day to drop weight. There's a lot of health gurus here though so I'm sure they'd have smarter and healthier recommendations that would ensure that you retained your muscle mass.

100 calories? Did you mean 1000? 100 is like half a pop tart.

100g of carbs. I usually don't limit my calories.

I cut 10 pounds for competition and it was really easy.

I have started to practice weight cutting to see how much I can safely drop and how much of a performance drop I take.
