Id say if its something thats really important to you than she should be supportive, thats how good relationships work. It works both ways though. My gf of 5 years has always supported anything ive wanted to do, regardless of how much time i want to put into it. Caring about someone means caring about things they care about. But still make sure to have time for her. A happy wife is a happy life!

Your GF doesn't have to love BJJ. She doesn't have to fight, and she doesn't have to watch. But if it's a serious relationship, she should have to be supportive.

If BJJ makes you happy, more disciplined, etc, she should see that and want it for you, even if it's not her thing. If she doesn't, it means she is not interested in what makes you happy - only what makes her happy. Talk with her, explain that it's your passion, and if she still says no - IMO, she is not worth it anyway. This won't be the last time you have to choose between her and happiness.

Besides, it's not like your hobby is attending porn tradeshows. BJJ will make you healthier, and you will look better. Non-fighters spend hours in regular gyms anyway, unless their GFs want to roll in the sack with the Pillsbury Dough-bag.

Leave her or communicate how important it is to you. Staying with a woman who doesn't support you doing what you love is setting yourself up for a future full of misery. Tell your girl to get her own hobby. Maybe she can kick box at your gym. When women have their own thing going on (or friends), they are less likely to want to monopolize your time. Usually women get jealous when you take up all their time but then they have to "share" you. So yeah, she either needs to fall in line, leave, or get her own hobby. There are toooo many women out there for you to be stuck on a life drainer.
