Knee Locking...

Hey guys and girls,

The other day i was rolling and i went to closed guard and my left knee just locked up...i couldn't bend or extend it for a good 5 minutes. This happened several times when i was younger (like 8 years ago) but hasn't happened since the other day.

I feel a lil pain but not much now...when i looked it up on the internet everything pointed to a meniscus tear =-(

anyone have anything similair? what did you do?

Only reason i ask is because im nervous to roll now

One of my old instructors had a similar issue. His was a meniscus tear and eventually had it repaired but I bet he rolled with it like that for 2 years before getting it repaired. Mostly because he didn't have insurance. His would lock up every couple of months in class. I think he was out from training for about 2-3 months after the surgery.

The only way to know for sure is to get an MRI.
