That's such a bummer to hear about all of you guys who have had to leave schools due to conflicts with narrow minded instructors. I feel so fortunate to train with an instructor who encourages keeping an open mind regarding BJJ techniques and philosophies.
+1 and if all else fails, go train with them anyway. Keep 10P in your heart, but don't mention it at the gym. Learn what you can from them, and practice your 10P game with someone outside of the gym. I thought I was going to have to do this when I started at our Relson Gracie gym, but my coach is open minded, and even owns some of Eddies' books.Quote:

Go in there with a '10p or nothing/nothing else comes close/gi jiu jitsu isn't effective' etc etc type of attitude then you will definitely not be welcomed with open arms. These guys want your money after all, and they want to build big strong teams. Plus practically EVERY jiu jitsu gym has 'that guy', the guy that plays 10p or 50/50 or whatever.
I would say google all your local jiu jitsu gyms, and whichever one is the best, go there at least once or twice per week.
