Having the confidence to know I had the correct approach helped me a lot in training the last 2 days. I was a lot more aggressive from my open guard and was forcing butterfly guard and x guard quite a lot. Hopefully it keeps working.
David: the guys are right on the money.. just get a hold of one of their foot and you're in. Sean mention the black mamba. My daughter was trying to engage this fast kid on sat. He was almost Schaubing until I scream out "black mamba". Right away she got a hold of his leg, he fall into the lockdown and then she work her way up to full guard and never let him out after that. So Black Mamba my friend...:) The reason why I love this 10thplanetJJ so much is that no matter what position you are in, as long as you grab onto them with something, we have so many clinch techniques that allow us to move and transition during that clinch.
That really is the beautiful thing, once we get a clinch of any sort we can let our techniques go. I have been looking at the black mamba recently but have yet to drill it much or attempt it rolling. I must put in some solid reps of it soon. Thanks for the help. Also that was some sick rubber guard in that tournament from Cora, imagine how good she will be when she is 18 or 21, it's amazing.
