Especially this. And always progress forward. Do not settle for losing ground. Take the football and march it right down the field, even if you have to start on your own 5 yard line. And have fun.

dude no worries, you shouldnt be nervous you love this shit
Hell yea I do, I don't remember the last time I was this excited about this shit, I'm just jittery bc it's not until this saturday. I just wanna get in there and see how I do under that sort of pressure. It's one thing to roll with the other students and instructors, but white belts can be viscous and out of control at times, I know I was when I first got in the jits game, so it's more of how I'm gonna handle how explosive the other competitors will be. Thanks again for the support everyone, I know I'll do fine out there for sure!
oh, and I'll def be posting the video on here for all to enjoy of course :D
Hardest thing for me is boredom. Be prepared to be very bored while waiting for your match. I see so many guys that are constantly stretching and warming up and end up doing it for hours and being exhausted by the time their match comes along. My most important prep for tournaments is a pillow so I can sleep. That's just me though, everyone is different. Other than that, just treat the match like it's a hard roll in the gym against someone you don't like.
Hey, you can always pull guard. I love it when all these wrestler girls show up. Makes me have some hope for the stand up part of the competition. And if you start having anxiety, I always do about 2 days before, there's lots of articles out there specifically geared toward, well basically, high pressure sports anxiety. They usually have some great tips for mental and also breathing techniques.
H oh and btw Tori, I just stumbled upon ur vid on youtube from last month with u competing and I really liked ur armbar from the rg! Very impressive, do u have any more vids out there of u competing?
Remember to breathe!
