I think American JJ has a better ring to it than something that rings of Sumerian / Akkadian / Babylonian myth. You make it Babylonian Jiu jitsu, someone will invent Persian Jiu Jitsu and beat you down. ;) Cyrus the Great ftw.

I know the "Godfather of Grappling" is Gene LeBell. Defender of the grappling faith for many years when people thought it was just a bunch of guys wrestling in pj's. Also Eddie said that he thinks Gene may have been the one to show him some of the stuff he uses today. Anyway you cut it, Eddie is a game changer with fantastic teachers and people who support him.
