You just have to accept that people don't like seeing other people succeed. As long as you are doing the right things, there is nothing legitimate they can say about you. Other people will see that as well.
Now they will still say negative things. The things they say just wont make any sense though.

For instance, I've heard that my blue belt is fake. I've heard that I get tapped by every body that comes in. Most recently someone from a local school told one of my guys that I am "scared" to compete in front of my students.
All of which is false and none of which, my students or the people around that matter, believe.

Just keep it professional brotha. The haters are gonna hate.

Bobby and Sean are kings of knowledge and I thank you. I am the one who offered the submission challenge so I guess the title is misleading. He removed his remarks from the newspaper website so I'm not going to chase him into his own business. His students even called me to apologize for the remarks. Who knows what it all means, but I don't think he's going to accept any matches.

You know I have shared this before, but it's pertinent to this thread. The first day I walked into Jiu Jitsu (a year ago), I walked in as a Blackbelt in TKD and a confident street fighter.
....then I got submitted twice, by a 13 year old blue belt. (I was 39) Once with a heel hook and once with a guillotine. It blew my mind.

I was so humbled by that, I knew I had to learn JJ right away. Honestly, I believe that if you put this guyto sleep against his will, it would have been a humbling and life changing experience for him. (But don't chase him down, you'll just end up in trouble with the "law")

The fact HIS students contacted you to apologize says everything you need to know. Yeah, the guy is an asshole, and as much as his shit would piss off any of us, Sean is probably right on this one. Hope he accepts tho. I'd love to see you hand him his ass.

It's over. They need to coexist as I would benefit both schools. Taco Bell is more successful when sitting next to a McDonald's.. You will end up with the jiujitsu guys...He can have all the people that wanna do forms and break bricks with an inverted earlobe strike. Maybe make friends? Could benefit ya..
