Hi, so any of you seen this documentary? It is pretty crazy. Well worth a watch.
Just recently (a little under a week ago) I switched from an awful diet of coke, bread and meat etc to a plant based whole foods diet and am loving it so far. Any of you on a similar diet? How are you finding it?

I watched it on Netflix not too long ago. Another interesting one about curing cancer with diet is "Dying to Know"

But there of course is info out there that is contrary to what I just stated of course. I can't see the video, but after I read in your post that you drank soda I was compelled to state that it is HFCS containing, cancer causing, sugar-laden poison.

Vegucated, on Netflix was pretty good. Showed a bit on how animals are treated (tortured). Ive been on a raw vegetable and legumes diet since Sunday. Already lost 10 pounds and haven't lost any strength. My diet was already pretty good, but I ate lots of eggs, chicken, and dairy. Hope to cut down to 220lbs for the next tournament
I have been thinking about my diet soda consumption a lot lately. I am a diet coke addict- and I'm not joking- it's an issue. I've been doing some research to help build my mental defense arsenal. I found this and it makes perfect sense to me:
In a 2008 study, for instance, women who drank water that was alternately sweetened with sugar and Splenda couldn't tell the difference -- but their brains could. Functional MRI (fMRI) brain scans revealed that even though both drinks lit up the brain's reward system, the sugar did so more completely.
"Your senses tell you there's something sweet that you're tasting, but your brain tells you, 'Actually, it's not as much of a reward as I expected,'" says Martin P. Paulus, MD, a professor of psychiatry at the University of California San Diego, and one of the authors of the study. "The consequence might be that the brain says, 'Well, I'll have more of this.'"
In other words, artificial sweeteners may spur drinkers -- or their brains -- to keep chasing a "high" that diet soda keeps forever just out of reach. It's not clear that this teasing effect can lead to dependence, but it's a possibility, Dr. Paulus says. "Artificial sweeteners have positive reinforcing effects -- meaning humans will work for it, like for other foods, alcohol, and even drugs of abuse," he says. "Whenever you have that, there is a potential that a subgroup of people ... will have a chance of getting addicted."

Ten day juice fast after watching "fat sick and nearly dead" not for weight loss but for a cleansing. It was tough but I felt really good after two days. I felt like Forks over knives was pretty hardcore vegan/vegetarian and I know I may be in the minority on this subject but God gave animals to be eaten also. We Americans probably take that to an extreme, but meat consumption is biblical. If I had cancer I would probably go vegan and drive to Mexico to see Charlotte Gerson. I think a plant based diet is very good but meat has some very good sources of nutrients in it also.
