I'm not sure why, but for me the calf slicer from the truck is the most dramatic submission, maybe it's because opponents try to resist the pain, unlike a quick tap from a money arm bar or sunk choke? I'm also from a gi background, when I learned the truck I thought it was straight ninja shit and crunches usually aren't allowed in the gi

For some reason I don't see a calf slicer phasing Royler, or he wouldn't show it if it did, but he would have to address it. Then Eddie could advance. Who knows how this will go. Neither has slacked since the initial match and both are def better. Its gonna be a trip. I don't think it will be a fast match. 7 min plus.

yeah that's true, like Renzo keeping a straight face when Sakuraba broke his elbow....I've always wondered what would happen if you held on to a calf slicer? If I can get in a position where my arm is not in danger of an arm bar, I put a rear-naked choke grip on the top of the foot when I apply the calf-slicer. I've never asked Eddie about whether or not this is a good idea, but I feel like it gets a lot quicker taps from the calf-slicer.

I remember Matt Serra had that separated bicep from an arm crunch, I wonder if he had to tap in that match?

I've had a guys heel all the way to his ass and was trying to shove it up it. I had to take his back and choke him. I fought him later in gi, so I guess he was fine. Felt gross though. I also repeatedly let one of my training partners out of dudas and armcrushes. He acts unaffected but I can feel shit about to go.

A twister would be sick..and there's no not tapping to that. You'll be straight paralyzed/extremely messed up afterwards, esp if Eddie goes Swedish Twister. Either way Eddie's got this %100. He's a monster and he has a strong team behind him that believes he's gonna smash this guy. :-D

I think Royler is too flexible to be tapped by the carni. It could transition to a sub, but dude is crazy hard to tap. That's why it was such a big deal in the first place. Who knows.?.
