over 5000 people have shown up to wallstreet and have been protesting the greed of the white collars there. The protest is HUGE and people are literally CAMPING in the streets.
There is an almost complete media blackout on this event. Your guess is as good as mine to why the media is ignoring this but I think I have an idea.
If i had to take a wild stab in the dark.. id guess those protesters do not forgive, they do not forget, and we should expect them :P
record it, make a mini documentary and spread it on youtube, twitter, Facebook... etc...

also as a side note.. it appears they are going out of there way to make sure this story isnt noticed by many.. Here's a link to a map of all the places the hashtag "occupywallstreet" (The name of this protest) is being used on twitter.. (the bigger the hashtag, the more people that are using it in the area)

I think the basic idea is that over the past few years we've seen a HUGE economic decrease, and millions of people losing their houses and money, while all the CEO's and big wigs have seen a HUGE increase in bonuses and salaries. So people are wanting to know why their money is being lost in the market while these wall street execs are giving themselves billions of dollars for a job that they arent even doing properly. And now that all this new information is being released about the corruption that has been going on with these banks purposefully setting people up to lose all their money just so the higher ups can get some more fat checks.. people are starting to rebel. I dont necessarily think they expect their money back (lets face it thats not going to happen), they just want to see a change in the system that makes these men more accountable for their actions. And set up regulations and punishments for them rather than the government throwing them more money (which they dont have) everytime they ask for it.Quote:

(dont give loans to people who they know do not have the means to pay them back) One of the reasons you are asked how much you make when you apply for a loan. There is a system set up that is supposed to help guide people to make the right decision on getting the loan that they can afford. Instead.. we see emails from these banks who are PURPOSEFULLY waving the lack of ability to pay and allowing them to get into financial trouble. Granite I think people should be responsible and take their money in their own hands anyway.. so that doesnt happen.. but unfortunately a lot of people dont understand all that goes into financing. (the whole reason they hire people to help them). And these people they hire are not doing their jobs. As for the handful of people.. I dont know.. If thats the case those are some BIG hands. Theres thousands in NY right now.. and you have to think.. thats just the ones that have the means to get there. And when i say rebel i dont mean stand in a street and protest. I hear people ALL the time who are tired of having their money, retirement, and social security taken from them. And want the system to change. But.. these are just my opinions.. it could be you are correct.. and that the banks and government are morally sound and do their best to look out for our best interests rather than their pay checks.. But i guess we'll just have to wait and see. Time will tell

The video is just a bunch of whiny-ass hipsters getting arrested for blocking off ENTIRE INTERSECTIONS of public roads. The cops are there not only to protect the protesters, but all the other people too, and to keep the city running as smoothly as possible. They wouldn't get out of the street so they were arrested. As for the "non-violent protest," there is clearly a point in that video where some black dude takes a swing at a cop, and is subsequently arrested. The Police are protecting public safety. Take the London riots for example. The police didn't act as soon as they should have, and what was a protest of like 200 people turned into a 2 day riot. Fuck that. As for the protesters themselves... Well... They can be summed up like this...
