Good question, makes for a great thread. How bout inverted arm bar, kung fu the leg under his chin, the stretchout and choke down on the arm till you are under the elbow and extend the hips. I think it is in mastering the rubberguard. Will have a look at it when I get home.

Yes, but he is huggin' it tight and trying to stuff it down for an M1 type pass. He has also put your back square on your back.

All the rubber guard options are the best, and I have those down and teach it to those who can right now, lookin' for options for the guys that are not up to throwin' kung fu moves yet.

tonight, work on the arm in guilly option as Mike suggested, and reinserting the butterfly of the stuck leg and going to an elevator sweep back toward the overhooked arm. Would still like a few more options for next week before I move on.

Gotcha Gotcha. Well Mikes answer sounded better anyway so that works out lol. But as another option, If you work with the Rubix cube at all.. That sounds like a pretty opportune time to use it.

yeh, rubix is good if the guy gets his elbow up, I have a teamate that will go rubix on me if I don't keep my elbow tight, but I usually keep it tight. Good option to show them in case it is there. Didn't think of that, thanks. Man it is hard to type right after class...

When he tries to stuff, get wrist control. If your heel and your knee are touching and squeezing. Wrist control and the power of your shin, its like a quad extension, its hard to beat. My advice would be to fine tune your pyramid. Its a deathzone.

Prison-Guard; got a butter-fly sweep, route to the back, short-cut to NY, or recover full. Best used if they posture out of your original over-hook situation, you can recover with the head & arm and get to work that way

Yes, completely agree 1000%. and we are drilling it like a deathzone. But sometimes heels don't go to knees and you can't get wrist control fast enough. Someday we will have a pyramid master or two. But right now it is pretty easy to defend the pyramid and pass when they try it. Just trying to prepare them for what to do incase of failure.
