Yeah they work if you aren't trying to capture strikes and especially if you have control of the entire limb.

Really? Didnt know that, I started this like 2 years ago. I would have guessed that with the whole small guy v big guy dynamic they always pushed; they would have valued attacking the wrist.

I come from a traditional backround Shizen Ryu Aiki Jiujitsu fortunately for me my sensei was russian. He focused on what was combat effective and discarded what ever he deemed useless. You start at the fingers then the wrist then the elbow to the shoulder to the neck good night sweet prince.

I honestly didn't give them any respect till I actually looked at them. Bjj guys used to think ankle locks were dirty too. It's funny how they end up coming around.

Just saw it today but I'm going to play around with it. I get overhooks a lot and a common reaction is to circle that arm back in so I could see it working at a relatively high percentage.
