    Isn't standard procedure to use the "torso" leg first for the arm crush? And when your leg is hooked, I'm thinking it would be pretty hard to get the right leverage even if you used your other leg for the arm crush.

    Remember though, this is a standard arm bar defense when the legs are open. This is not a spiderweb defense where the ankles are crossed and the far shoulder is locked.

    Plus, arm crushes are illegal in most competitions, so why not learn this? Like I said, it's saved my ass soooo many times against really good players. Try it out before jumping to conclusions brother. I think you may like it. And who knows, maybe one day it'll bail you out of a tough spot.

    I'm not saying not to learn it or that it doesn't have an application I love to see new techniques. Just saying for my style and body type (6'6" super long legs and flexible) I would always be going to spider web and trying a quick bicep crush on anyone who did that against me.

    Speed is key. Arm crush is there if you a frame too long.
