I prefer overhooking the leg with the new york arm rather than underhook. it gives slightly less control but I feel like it isnt needed and you get unhook it and grab new york again a lot quicker.
Pull the overhook tight as well, since this will unbalance them and make them sit down again. and be prepared to get into chilldog the moment they come back down.
putting pressure on their thigh with the free leg might stop them as well. and of course being more to one side will stop a lot of people unless you're tiny and they're big.

Putting pressure on their tight is the most easy solution, so i will try it for sure. Being more on one side is also something I should do. I tried do it when he was lifting me, but I should be more on one side earlier.
And all of your points seem very logical. Brent and others also mention to hook the leg, which will be my next step. But I have to give up New York for that, so before going to chilldog I have to get New York back and he would probably again try to lift me as soon as possible also, so I don't know how that works out.
Brent (or others) you say I should hook the leg, but what would you do after hooking the leg?
