Tweaked knee during a truck roll?

    Hey folks,

I was rolling this past Saturday with my wife during an open mat and something that happened during our roll sprained her MCL.

Recovery is going well so far but I want to double-check my technique. I've done the move quite a few times and haven't hurt anybody, but I felt like there was a scramble in there where she might have gotten her knee tweaked.

I tried the Slow Samurai on her. Had trouble acquiring the fishnet, so I believe I was monkey gripping her foot (no kuwi control, no fishnet). After the roll, during a struggle, she felt her knee pop.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips?

It's when your slightly loose, then tighten up when you feel them escaping. Stay tight beginning to end. Whoever is smaller can get tweaked. Bottom or top.

Tore my mcl going to truck... Twice. I don't do it against super aggressive spazzy guys anymore an I also triangle my legs before I roll now to give extra support.

Thank you. That makes sense. I think I know what I need to work on!

Incidentally, the knee is doing much better now. The wife is back to training and we are very optimistic she will be able to compete on Saturday!
