counter to darce counter to lockdown?

When ever I get this guy (strong wrestler) in a perfect lock down or electric underhooks, he counters with a darce choke, which leads me to abandon my sweep attempt. Does anyone know of, or recommend any techniques to attempt from that position? A counter to the darce from the bottom?

If you do have the arm underhooked around and you can't pull it out for whatever reason, then there is a massive difference between having a low underhook around his hips and a high underhook aiming for his shoulder.

Having your underhook at his shoulder will pretty much stop him from getting his arm through far enough to get the d'arce.

But mechanic sweep all the way, all day.

Anytime I feel a hand come under my underhook arm while on my side, I always use the mechanic sweep. If I'm not in lock down. I still get the wrist and put myself in lock down to complete the sweep.

Keep your bottom ear glued to your shoulder and keep head deep to prevent the darce if going for old school.

I am really liking the Mechanic. MTS13 was a good review for this. I was getting caught in D'arces and JNTs from double underhook lockdown until reading this thread.
