Wow. Jiu Jitsu continues to impress me. Blind, deaf, missing limbs. Jiu Jitsu doesn't seem to care. It says something about the art that it is so accessible to all humans. It's so fundamental.
I personally find myself closing my eyes often when I roll. It seems to heighten my sensitivity to my body and my opponent's touch. The amount of sensory information coming at me is overwhelming to me. It almost feels like getting rid of some of it helps me.
I'd be very interested to hear from some blind grapplers about their experiences.
