Couldn't disagree more. If you look at it like opening any other business, you do a few things now to prepare. If you, @lattamoney are a blue belt, yes indeed focus on training because ultimately that's the most important thing to opening a BJJ gym. We wear our resumes around our waist. BUT that doesn't mean you can't start preparing now. Boost your credit score, get a good paying job, and start saving money. Find out about the local real estate market and find out a good rental price for a unit. Start small but have a developed business plan. Maybe find some used mats on Craigslist and keep them in your garage. You could be ready by the time you're a purple or brown, but if you JUST TRAIN you won't have the financial resources once your skill level reaches a level where you can teach.
