I won matches in expert absolute giving up 100 pounds when I was just a blue belt so I simply don't believe that its as straight forward as "20 lbs= a belt". That said, you powering out of some things against someone weaker is kinda an independent factor to you starting training. If you mean you'll need other training partners to progress, I would agree.

Also, most people that train with Brandon don't know what they have access too, his is one of my favorite gyms to cross train at. But you say your in Cali now? Great news, most of my other favorite gyms to visit are there. Your so lucky with the training available to you either way, get in there man!
