    Grip Power Matters

60 percent of jiu jitsu is grip power and engagement of dominant grips. Everybody is talking about dominant positions but the real key is that. When you have right connections with your opponent even you know a few techniques you can kill him. So keep in mind dominant grips before position before submission.

Grip breaks and grip fighting also matter also. Jimmy Pedro and Rhadi Ferguson changed my mentality on all that jive around blue belt. It is good mindset to add to defense first escape second position first submission second.

It’s a question of range. At the farthest ranges, Grips are first, once you’re closer, they naturally are not.
