Some pretty good thoughts there.

I think the constant pressure of competition turns a lot of people away from Jiu Jitsu. I think that's a shame, because it could have helped their life so much if they'd have found a way to stay with it.

As an instructor, I find it to be more and more important to learn about your goal set and your life and help you find a way to let the art enhance your life, not become a detriment.

Not everyone wants to compete. And that's perfectly ok.

There is a brown belt that trains with us that had his first ever comp just this month. I was really surprised and also glad to see that that is possible.
