    DRosales Introduction and Competition Vids

    Hi All,

Long time 10th planet fan posting for the first time. Had my 2nd competition Saturday in Austin, Texas. Fight to win promotions no gi intermediate 145lb division. I met Bruce, Cora Sek's Father and he convinced me to get on these forums and get some insight.

I'm from Robstown, Texas, about 30 miinutes from Corpus Christi. I've trained jui jitsu on and off at several different schools since college but never made a gi belt. I'm training right now with buddies out of my own garage gym and competing for fun. I'd love to learn and roll with other 10th planet members to get a better feel for how these techniques work in live rolls. Watching these I see a ton of errors on my part so there is a alot to work on before the next one but let me know what you think poha. I'm in the 10th planet rashguard and shorts.

Solid beginning. I'd say biggest mistake is turning your back to your opponent while in half guard. It was like you were offering it to him haha. Good work though, keep plugging away. We either win or we learn, we never lose.

Thanks man. Watching it I think those were shitty kimura attempts from bad positions. I'll work on that.

props for going after it like that. You've got minimal support not having a school, instructor, coaches, and you're still getting after it. That's awesome.

Google seems to suggest there are a couple BJJ schools in your city. My advice would be try to find a way to train there.

Thanks Bruce, thanks Craig. The plan is to find a school even if its gi. Hopefully find some like minded people who are into this style. I do feel at a disadvantage when the opponent is being coached very specific things like head here, hand here and I know that training with some different bodies and different styles is what I need right now. I'm currently very limited as far as training partners.
