I didnt mean to insinuate a BB never started MMA as an amatuer, just that I have never seen it (I go to a good deal of local ammy MMA fights) as in seen it in person. I do remember Drysdale starting his ammy MMA career. The thing is, I always thought the ADCC was a professional event (prize money, etc) and it struck me odd he would fight amatuer in MMA (I know if you ever fight as a pro boxer/kickboxer, you are not allowed to do that) given he had already been a professional in probably the most important aspect of MMA (grappling). Dont get me wrong, I understand the need for experience, but that guy, had zero need to fight ammy, I mean, there are literally droves of professional MMA fighters who have a very shoddy skill set fighting in local shows who really think they could beat drysdale.
That said, That event will have about as much Sub grappling mat time as you can get in one amatuer event.
