Good Episode! Maybe I missed it. But there was no mention of Mike Fowler as a influence. Didn't Mike live there for many years before he left for Hawaii?

Great episode, great technique. It's very inspiring to see how a bunch of desire and passion (and a little help from Enson) can create an entire sub culture.

As a side note, it's strange how that De La Riva sweep is legal yet reaping the knee isn't yet both techniques rely on lateral knee torque to force the hip over and gain leverage.

I thought the same. It's basically because IBJJF rules are for sissies.
