    Anyone know Fabiano Silva?

So my gym (port city mma) just lost our VERY legit purple belt instructor to the air force. Aparently we are auditioning this guy Fabiano Silva as the new Gi instructor. Anyone seen him roll before? Is he legit? Kind of excited to roll with a black belt and will find out for myself next week but was just looking for a heads up out of curiousity.

Hi Scott Phillips... Fabiano Silva is a member of my team ATT of Coconut Creek... however, for me, he is much, much, more... 1st let me say that my recommendation really means nothing because Fabiano's accomplishments & abilities speak for themselves... as Eric previously mentioned Fabiano is a World BJJ Champion and Pan AM JJ Champion w/ and w/out the GI... Fabiano is an encyclopedia of knowledge in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu... @ roughly 6'4 230 lbs he moves very, very, smoothly, and technical on the mat... He is a big man that knows how to play like a small mans game making him a dominant force on the competition scene and on the mat... simply put his Jiu Jitsu is top shelf World Class... but Scott, just as importantly Fabiano is a true friend, role model, and mentor... Everyone @ ATT Creek knows Fabiano and many gravitate towards him when he enters the gym... Fabiano has a certain positive energy, strong spirit that people like to surround themselves by... when i encounter a problem with my game that just cant seem to figure out i almost always go to Fabiano when given the opportunity... Fabiano is the type of guy that will take the time out of what he's doing to get down on the mat, even in street clothes, and help you make the proper correction/adjustment to evolve your game unselfishly holding nothing back... i can honestly say that Fabiano is one of only a handful of guys @ Creek that has helped me to take my game to another level... again, i want to say that once you meet with him, get to know him, my reference will not mean much because this mans personality and abilities speaks for himself... i will say that, however, if he leaves i will be saddened to lose such a good friend on a day to day basis but i will also be happy for him because the only thing in life that is gauranteed is change, and Fabiano, just like every man, must fullfill his own destiny, walk his own path... best regards, Scott Davis

    Fabiano Silva

I know and train with Fabiano at ATT. Honestly you could not ask for a more dedicated teacher and friend. He's earned everything he has and is someone that I'm happy to say I look up to and motivates me in BJJ and my personal life.

    Fabiano Silva

I've trained with Fabiano since I was a white belt and he has had a profound impact upon my game and how I view BJJ.

There are great competitors and there are great teachers, Fabiano is that rare individual who is both. His competition resume has been well established already, but I think it bears mentioning that his recent success has all occurred following major knee surgery, so he is not merely some gifted athlete, but a dedicated and motivated practitioner.

As a teammate and instructor Fabiano is especially gifted. Not only is he a large man who has learned to play a "small man's game" which makes him especially dangerous, but he also understands and can communicate the finest details and strategies that he is utilizing.

My ONLY hesitation in recommending Fabiano is that I would lose him as a daily resource and training partner. He would be a tremendous asset to any gym.

    Fabiano Silva

I have known Fabiano Silva for many years. I can definitely tell you that he is a great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor that had trained many years with the best MMA and BJJ fighters in the world. He is a very nice person that loves the sport. If you can get him to teach at your gym, it will be a great addition to sucess.
