Excellent point though Ric. There should be tenets in place that allow this thing we're all a part of to continue thriving, growing and developing regardless of the "moving on to another plane of existence" as you call it or "death" as I like to call it.

On Zog's point of the fragmentation of JKD once Bruce Lee died, I just would like to add that I'd bet my left testi that Bruce would totally be a 10th Planet warrior if he was still alive today.

Seeing the Star Wars Theme here reminds me of 10th Planet West LA's sign with the death star. Which brings up the idea of Scotty being the 10th Planet Sith Lord.... as that there are only ever 2 sith lords ... who is Scotts Padawan? and who is to say that if Eddie were to pass that indeed Scott could be the one to lead us all to the Dark side .....

I hate to bring up the most morbid of scenarios as we begin a new year but...what happens if Eddie moves on to another plane of existence. You know, kicks the bucket and is no longer among the living of Earth.

Is there a 10th Planet manifesto hidden away somewhere that outlines what happens next?

I picture 2 schools of thought emerging. On the one side we have the old school 10th Planet students who believe the art should be taught as Eddie himself taught it. They would teach only the stuff Eddie himself actually taught. They would be the 10th Planet equivalent of Relson Gracie who says he doesn't teach the Butterfly Guard because Helio Gracie didn't use it.

And then there's the other side. The ones who believe Eddie was open to all sorts of new technqiues, so they would be out there teaching stuff all sorts of new stuff that Eddie had never seen, and yet they'd be calling it 10th Planet. They'd be the equivalent of Renzo Gracie who teaches all the latest techniques and isn't bound to some ancient Gracie syllabus.

The whole situation could devolve into a Shite vs Sunni style conflict with members sending suicide bombers to take out the rival 10th Planet school. And what of Renato...what's to stop him from emerging from underground with a plan to convert 10th Planet to a Gi Only system?

I don't want to bring anyone down, but these are the concerns that keep me awake night after night, unable to sleep and unable to focus on my job or family. I realize that it is like a finger pointing to the moon. If you concentrate on the finger you will miss all that heavenly glory...but I need answers to these questions.

Hi Ric. I've been to Eddie's classes and they are as progressive as you can get when it comes to jiu jitsu. HQ is the head of the think tank that 10p has become. All the schools have their own styles and strengths.

The challenge becomes, how does HQ disseminate what's important to 10p instructors around the world. In part, you have this forum, but I'm sure Eddie has a "lil black book" of all the movers and shakers in the system, that he communicates the Good Word to.

I'm sure if the head of the system were to disappear, the soldiers will continue to communicate with eachother and keep 10p instruction as progressive as possible. It's difficult to stop the force of an object, once it's set in motion.
