    Hulk Posture !! Tech tips?

I need some tech advice. I met this guy last night and got to roll with him for a couple hours. His submissions were limited I think but he was an amazing wrestler. So I mostly had my hands full fighting for position. My question is, What do you do with someone that can posture out of almost anything? He was probably about 15 pounds heavier than me and alittle stronger but still. . . If I was lucky enough to break him down and get to any stage of the rubber guard he would just sit up, sometimes without even putting his hands on the mat. I couldn't manage to get the Invisible Collar but crackhead control, meat hook, and pushing my foot hard into his hip didn't work. He'd just sit up, and I tried hanging on and goin up with him and workin it from there but he'd just shake me off. Advice??

You're not going to win every posture battle. Use his momentum to hit hip bump sweep.

    REPS!

Posture/Breaking Posture is a WAR ZONE. You have to be good at both, theres no way around it. Rep the shit out of it! Over the years I've spent more time in this WAR more than any other position/situation, its a necessity.

You have to train it like you MUST win every posture battle, even if you don't win the intent is there, and if you put reps in you'll find results. When you've done it due diligence, then you can start adding in alternatives. You'll find the alternatives will open the door to breaking them down when they defend techniques like the hip bump sweep, guillotine etc.

You new training partner is exactly who you should be training with to accomplish this task, don't give up on it when it becomes difficult, see it as an oppertunity to put in some serious work.

what coach herzog said, reps! i been training a little over 2 years and ive never had the best posture/breaking posture abilities, probably average. in the last couple months a few guys have been saying how i do a real good job of breaking their posture and getting good at holding them down. they said its getting annoying they cant break out and posture. its something you will do everytime you roll so put alot of effort into it. now that im getting good at controlling guys im able to look for subs alot more.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement. Ya the hip bump sweep came to mind on my way home, Ill try it next time. And I definately view this as an opportunity, as ive never been able to work with anyone with this kind of wrestling skill.
