Bad coaches...

We have a club fairly local to me, the guy running it is about 400lbs, has 20+ years experience and is a black belt - in kung fu.
Anyway, he teaches the mma, the stand up, grappling absolutely everything at his academy.
So i went over there one night after having 6 weeks off training, totally out of shape, (and before i knew his background/credentials) and completely rolled through all of his guys - and i am shit, literally still a baby in this game myself. I expect 98% of the members here would roll through me like i rolled through them. However it brings me to my point, the guy was clearly just learning via youtube and passing it on to his students. He had no grappling experience whatsoever, he was missing the finer details when teaching the techniques, and because he had never rolled himself due to weight issues and injuries (and i think just lack of confidence in his skills due to never really using them, if he has them at all) he had nowhere to go after a failed submission attempt, he had no idea about chaining submissions together and paths etc etc. I swiftly realized that training at that place would be detrimental to my health in the long run LOL, so i never went back. Just feel sorry for the other 30 students he has there. :-)

I got to experience this Daniel guy first hand this weekend as well, this has something that's been going on for over a year now. I've actually competed with business from this supposed '10th P Black Belt' :/ It's a shame to because he feeds all these kids a line of shit, hopefully somebody puts him in his place...Guy doesn't even compete for any of us to quiet him down though, which blows.

Great work this weekend Dave, Guys like that DO give the sport a bad name.

WOW well i just noticed since yesterday he pulled all of his info off of his FB page including that his other coach was a former CMU wrestler which was not the case. Must be word is spreading and hes trying to cover his ass...

I can't be specific, but it goes both ways. I'll be watching guys warm up and there are some insanely talented and knowlegable coaches reminding their guys of little things last minute; I'm talking details that give you chills.

Other times you get the exact opposite, and I'll leave it at that.

What goes through these fraud's heads that makes them think that they can honestly get away with scams like this? Have they not heard of google? Do they not know that the BJJ Community is a very large yet close community? Does this guy not get that alls it would take to shut his scheme down is one little email to Master Bravo asking him whether or not he gave this guy his black belt?

The stupidity of people is really overwhelming... these guys could just simply use wrestling as their base, bring in a legit purple belt, and call it SUBMISSION GRAPPLING (no shame in it), but instead they fill kids heads with loads of crap. I think it would be cool if Eddie posted a video calling this dude a fraud!
