I'll post some pics and vids

Ben Askren used it in Bellator 14.

I've got a video back at home with some Japanese MMA highlights and i think there are two on there. I'll upload it after work. I don't recognize any of the fighters, but one of the Neckties put a guy to sleep. I'll get it up when I can.

I was going to say Askren

I think that was set up from an arm in guillotine/front headlock where he rolled him over and caught the leg

    Yep.

Ben's squeeze in that position is insane. When he was down here we were talking about that finish, and I showed him how we enter it from top half. He said he was killing guys in the gym with it after that. I think he will end up catching one in MMA eventually.

Shinya Aoki showed it on his 2nd DVD set. That was the first time I ever saw it, and he is usually credited as the first person to develop the move. Obviously that doesn't mean he was the first to do it. he also came up with the darce choke on his own and called it the "spinning choke." But others came up with the darce on their own as well like John Danaher, Robert Drysdale, Milton Vieira, etc. So it's easy to see that someone could have been doing the Japanese Necktie before Shinya.

It's 10th planet because it works no gi, but I think Aoki showed it to the masses.

I am an Askren fan, amazing grappler to watch

Only thing I wish he would do is go for more chokes, would fit perfectly with his style, Jap Ties, Darces, Guillotines, North South Chokes, etc...even if he gets reversed he would be back on top in 2 seconds

Yea Chris Weidman does what I think Askren should/could. Askren got an arm triangle at adcc before, and that's not easy
