Maybe they'll leave her alone. The clip says that they won't try to track down criminals or arrest anyone. Instead they are just going around touting non-violence (to children, I assume).

Having cops like her is great for the Cartel (or any criminal). The police force acknowledges that they will do nothing to catch or punish criminals. Having her as police chief, prevents the town from hiring someone else that may try to stand up to them.

wasn't it just a few weeks ago, I forgot the name of the lake the incident happened on, but there is a lake right on the border of mexico, where a couple was attacked by some mexican drug cartel, and the lead investigator on the mexican side went missing, and then his head was sent to some police agency in the United States. . . . needless to say, those aren't the kind of people I would want to tangle with.
