I've never been a standing passer unless I'm going for leg drags so I don't know how to avoid x guard. My favorite guard passes would be twister pass against traditional half, buttocks compressor against lockdown, but I'm best at double under and baby wipe against full guard.
I'm working on this one pass where it's like I'm faking double unders, but I wait for them to make their hips heavy to the mat to counter the double under. I then pummel one hand in so my hand is on the inside knee and I pin the leg to the mat, same side knee slice, windshield wipe the feet and turn into twister side. I'm sure it's something that has a name already, but that's basically my plan b for guys who get wise to my under pass game. Plan C is to shuck the one leg that's still on my shoulder over my head and pass on the other side.
