So I got this invite. Let me know what yall think and especially for those of you who have been in this kind of tournament, please give advice on what 10thplanet techniques I need to focus on. Most of the boys Cora will face has wrestling background.
Hi Bruce, let this serve as Cora's official invitation to the BFA Invite-Only Tournament. She has been invited to represent 1 of 8, 11 year olds in this tournament. Here are the details:
There are no weight classes. Only age. Each competitor must come from a well-respected academy that teaches quality BJJ. Each competitor must be very active in competition and represent an "expert-level" skill set.
I've researched Cora and she meets this criteria. So we are excited to extend her an official invite to the Battle 4 the Ages Invite-Only Championship tournament.
The matches are 6 minute, sub-only matches. No points. In the event of no submissions, there will be a 3 minute sub-only match with points accumulated for true submission attempts.
There are no 2nd or 3rd or 4th place medals or trophies. The 8 competitors are all competing to win the BFA Championship belt. The belt is a true Championship belt and must be defended at the next event, or it is forfeited. All winners will be crowned Champion and will be featured across many social media platforms and networks.
There will only be 1 match at a time so that each match gets full, undivided attention. We will only be running 1 age group at a time. Bracket times will be tightly enforced so that each competitor has a true understanding of when they will compete. No sitting around all day waiting to compete.
There are no weigh ins... and the rules meeting will be done via our website via video. Each competitor and his/her coach is expected to watch the rules meeting.

Gameness Fight Co. is the head corporate sponsor and Mike Calimbas will be covering the event for photos.
The event is January 4th, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Competitor invites are going out all over the nation.
There is no entry fee, however, you must purchase 15 wristbands or PPV tickets or any combination of the two, at $10 a piece, totaling $150 of which you can give away or sell at your discretion. (We recommend you not sell them for more than $10)
We will have the wristbands waiting for your spectators at the event and we will provide any of your PPV purchasers with the PPV code to watch remotely online as it happens.
Simply tell us the 15 spectators and whether or not they are PPV or in person spectators and we will place them on the appropriate competitor's list as attendees.
We will need a quality headshot of the competitor, along with a bio, their academy website and who their head coach is, and his bio. This should be provided as soon as humanly possible.
For the 15 ticket purchase, we accept Visa/Mastercard or Discover. Or we can accept checks. Please tell us which method you prefer?
I am adding Cora officially to the website brackets as "accepting the challenge"
You can view the brackets as they stack up here: http://battle4theages.com/brackets/
We are so very excited to have her on board as a competitor. This will be a tough tournament. Make sure your competitor takes it seriously, trains hard and comes to claim their Championship belt and be crowned the best 11 year old BJJ player on the planet!
