    1st competetion in 4 years

Last Sunday I competed for the first time in 4 years. It was a small tournament at the Minneapolis Kali Group.

I learned a bit about trying to cut weight, and I saw where I need to improve my half guard. Basically the perfect setting to gear me up for the Grappling Games next month in Hudson, WI. Managed to get 2nd place, yay?

As as aside, watching Eddie (and all the other Metamoris competitors) the night before was super inspirational.

Congrats man and way to step up to the plate after such a long lay off, that can actually take some balls. Walkin away without an injury and better idea of what to develop? Sounds like a blessing to me. Post videos on here and people can help you tons.

Congrats, looks like we had a couple wins. Wish I could have made it out. Are you competing at NAGA?

I hadn't planned on NAGA. School is sucking up way more of my time than I'd like, and I'm a poor college kid. Given the opportunity to roll for a day for $85, or putting it towards a month @ 10th Planet Apple Valley, the choice of where to allocate the funds seems pretty obvious.

Thanks, Scott. It's been a long time away, it felt good coming back despite being totally nervous the night before. Even getting totally crushed in the final match had an up-side. I'm hoping Nate will have some advice for me once I'm over my cold and can get back into the gym.
