Strikes from guard paid off! Couple weeks ago Dylan (white guy) had a tough match. Sorry for low vid quality. OK, so we are at a heavy Muay Thai school and everybody around here seems to know it. I have been preaching the "what are you going to do if you can't keep it standing." The guy was a good wrestler, take downs were all but unstoppable. By most accounts, that guy might have won the decision via all his takedowns. To Dylan's credit he made a decision to make the guy pay for his poor posture in guard, and get the decision off his back, against the odds. He landed so many punches from the guard while the guy was very worried about the triangle. You can't see it but the last 5 seconds of round two he had a solid armbar locked up that, the guy would not tap too. The guy had the good takedowns, but he didn't have much for passing once he was there. The takedown, lay and pray approach. Kudos to the judges on this one!!
